Nettie Bzura

Nettie Bzura, 95, of Highland Beach, Florida and formerly of South Orange, New Jersey, passed away on March 18, 2018. Funeral Home Services for Nettie are being provided by Broward Burial & Cremation of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She will be cremated in Fla. and her remains sent directly to Beth Israel Cemetery in NJ where she will be laid to rest in a private family graveside service.

Mrs. Bzura, along with her beloved husband, Hyman (“Hy”) who predeceased her, were the founders of Madison Industries, Inc., Old Bridge Chemicals, Inc. and affiliated companies, internationally renowned leaders in recycling zinc and copper chemicals.

Born in Union City, NJ, Mrs. Bzura graduated with a degree in education from New Jersey State Teachers College at Jersey City.

Well known for her philanthropic pursuits, Mrs. Bzura was the founder of Hillel Academy Day School in Perth Amboy, widely regarded as one of New Jersey’s premier private schools. She and her husband established the Nettie Bzura Scholarship Fund that has provided graduate education for students majoring in chemical engineering at CCNY. She had been a significant contributor to and member/trustee of numerous public and private charities and associations, both local and international, including Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America; Congregation Beth El; and Hadassah Hospital (Jerusalem). Mrs. Bzura was recognized for her long standing sponsorship of both The Special Olympics and Rotary International.

Surviving are her daughter, Adrienne and son-in-law Andrew I. Radmin, Esq.; sons, Bruce and Joel and their wives, Laurie and Jill; her sister Marion Schuster; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
