Jesse Allen Snyder

Oct 14, 2017

Jesse Allen Snyder, age 84, of Ft. Lauderdale, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Holy Cross Hospital after a painful diagnosis of bone cancer. From his birth, July 25, 1933, Jesse lived a vibrant life and prided himself with a hard work ethic. Jesse was the only child of Amanda and Donald Snyder and was born in Detroit, Michigan. He spent several years living on a farm with his grandparents in Barrington, Illinois before his family moved to south Florida. After high school, Jesse joined the Army and lived in Texas for 4 years. He then moved back to Ft. Lauderdale where his parents lived. Jesse married Joann, and raised his daughters, Lynn and Lisa. He had a successful career as a life Insurance Broker with Northwestern Mutual. After he retired, he began a disciplined "fitness routine"  at Holy Cross Hospital Fitness Center where he made dear friends. He loved beach walks, going to Boat Shows, and was a pro at grilling steaks on the bbq! He also served at his church with the homeless community, worked on building projects, drove the elderly home from church, and joined bible studies.

Jesse is survived by his dauhter Lisa Snyder, daughter Lynn (Snyder) Meintel, son-in-law Mark Meintel, grandchildren, (Brock) and Cody Meintel, (Chelsea) and Billy O'Connell, and (Paige) and Derek Gunn, great-grandson, Vander, son of (Brock) and Cody Meintel, also his dear cousins Joan (Witt) Kell, Janice (Theobold) Baty, Judith (Theobold) Moore, Margene (Nerge) Butler, ad many man dear friends.

Servces will be held on Saturday,  October 21, 2017 at:

A viewing will be open at 11:00 am and service beginning at 1:00 pm with reception following at the church.

Our family is hearbroken, and will miss him so very much. He was loved, and appreciated for his commitment to his family. He was always with us even when the miles separated us. His parting words to us were "God's been good to me"...
