Davis J. Quackenbush

Aug 9, 2018

David J. Quackenbush passed away on August 9th, 2018 at the age of 66. He was predeceased by his parents, Rea H. and Eileen R. Quackenbush and his brother, Bobby. David is survived by his brother Michael Quackenbush (Savina), nephew Michael A. Quackenbush (Diana), niece Kimberly Q. Hess (Brad), and nephew Robert M. Quackenbush.

David was born in Ft. Lauderdale on November 27, 1951. He attended St. Anthony elementary school and graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High School in 1969. He attended the University of Florida and earned a degree in Journalism. He was a member of Florida Blue Key.

David’s working career included freelance writing, public relations, kitchen design and professional photography. In the past, he was active in his church as a member of the choir and as a Eucharistic Minister. One of his most enjoyable experiences was as a longtime member of the highly regarded Nova Singers.

More than anything else, David cherished his numerous and long-lasting friendships. These relationships were formed throughout the various stages of his life with many dating back to his early childhood. His family is very appreciative of these friendships and their very positive impact on David’s life. Of course, anyone who knew David was aware of his affection for his dog, Gideon.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:30 AM on September 1, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church located at 901 NE 2nd St, Ft. Lauderdale. A private burial service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that any donations be made to the Michael J. Foxx Foundation (Parkinson’s research) or the Humane Society of Broward County.
