August John Annesser

Jul 11, 2017

August John Annesser was born on June 17, 1921 in Ottawa, Ohio to August William Annesser and Adelia Roof. John was the middle child of nine children. With his dry, quick wit he often bragged about having “graduated in the top 13” in his high school (in a class of 13 students). In 1942 he enlisted in the Army and served in the 380th Bomb Group, known as “The Flying Circus.” He was stationed in the Pacific theater and was in Australia, Guam, and the Philippines.

In 1950 he married Margaret (Marge) McDonald and they were married for 47 years, until her passing in 1997. They lived in Dearborn, MI where John worked for Ford Motor Company as an engineering analyst for over 30 years until his retirement in 1983. In 1984 John and Marge moved to Tamarac, FL. He was an avid fan of harness racing and spent many years cheering for Bill Deters, his friend and favorite driver. In his later years he enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and the Marlins. John always loved going to Peter Pan Diner where he had many friends. He also looked forward to reading his hometown newspaper, the Putnam County Sentinel.

John was a very generous man who made friends wherever he went and will be missed by family and friends. He is survived by his loving daughter Paula Suarez and son-in-law Frank Suarez of Kendall, FL; granddaughter Alina Suarez of Clark, NJ; grandson Andy Suarez of Whitefish, MT; and grandson Eric Suarez and his wife, Soad, of Doral, FL. He is also survived by his sisters, Tommie Cash of Greenville, SC and Rita Huelskamp of Lima,OH.
