Edward Robert Caruso
Edward Robert Caruso was born on November 3, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York and was a son of Albert and Concetta Fasano Caruso. Edward passed away on November 24, 2018 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He graduated from the LaSalle High School in 1959 and then served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1962.
He began his career in the insurance industry as a marine claims adjuster quickly working his way up to sales agent, general agent and vice president for companies such as Aetna , Lincoln Life, Guardian and Met Life before starting his own insurance agency, Caruso Insurance in 1986.
Edward grew up in Brooklyn,New York before moving to Palos Verdes, Ca., Danville, Ca., Valley Forge, Pa., and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He is survived by his loving partner of 34 years, Connie Phillips,a sister, Elaine Ludwinski nee Caruso, four children Edward Michael Caruso (Lynise Caruso), Nancy Clough nee Caruso (Liam Clough), Janet Caruso (John Nattle), and Jessica Coburn nee Jones(Perry Coburn). Six grandchildren, Kathryn Caruso, Caroline Caruso, Ryan Krause, Andrew Krause, Robert Krause, and Samuel Coburn.
Edward had many passions in life most of which was tending to his many gardens. A true example of the American Dream and the value of hard work. He started work at the age of eight in Brooklyn, N.Y. He loved to share his sense of humor and quick wit with his storytelling. He made all who he knew feel special with his kindness and generosity.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Washington Memorial Chapel, 2000 Valley Forge Park Road, King of Prussia, PA.. A reception will follow at Phoenixville Country Club. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, www.mclefphila.org or the Urban Farm Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Ufi.us.org/donations/
