John Francis Mulroy 8/24/1938 to 8/30/2017

Aug 30, 2017

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of John F. Mulroy, resident at Hollybrook. John was born on August 24, 1938 in Hartford, Connecticut.

At the age of 20, he enlisted in the Marines and had an honorable discharge in 1962. He arrived in Miami Beach, Florida a few years later where he worked as a Postal Clerk for the Miami Beach Post office. John was widowed in 1982. He retiree in 2002 and moved to Hollywood/Pembroke pines.

He has only one surviving daughter, a son in law, and 2 grandchildren. John was a sweet man who was severely hard of hearing which probably aggravated his neighbors as his TV volume was always at max. His interests included beer most of all, then sports, especially baseball, the Yankees being his favorite team. He was an avid reader of the news and novels. Absolutely adored his grandkids as well as animals, rescuing many. Lulu, his dog being the last. John struggled with Parkinson's for 10 years. Most recently he was diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma, which is what ended his life. John aka Moe will be missed by many.

His inurnment will take place on Thursday, Sepember 28, 2017 at 2:45 PM  at the South Florida National VA Cemetery located at 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449
